Welcome to issue 39 of the AmiGo Edit, a special edition curated by Júlia Juste, the Barcelona-born tastemaker and founder of Outliers, a curated collection of beautiful, authentic and unique places to stay around the world. Here, she highlights the places, people, and things she’s loving right now.

The most spectacular and remote place I have been to this year is the Tinajani Canyon in Peru. The landscapes were the most amazing we saw in the country. When I visited, family-run hospitality company Andean was in the process of building a new hotel, Tinajani. I love Andean’s properties because they are beautiful and have incredibly warm service, so I can’t wait to return now that Tinajani is open. It has just a few tents in the middle of a canyon, and I’m certain that they will serve delicious homemade food, offer incredible activities, and that the experience will be full of surprises.

This past January I joined my first Thread Caravan trip in Panama. They organize small group trips around the world centered on craftsmanship, offering a unique opportunity to connect with local artisans and learn about heritage art traditions that are still practiced. This one was all about getting to know the Guna Yala communities and their molas, the textiles they wear. We sailed through the Guna Yala islands (also known as the San Blas islands) for four days, visiting a different community each day to sew with them, share meals, and spend time together.

Thread Caravan just released their trips for 2026, including ones focused on block printing in Jaipur, weaving in Oaxaca, ceramics in Morocco, indigo tradition in Japan, and basket weaving in Scotland. You can check out all their trips here.

My favorite Spanish food, and the thing I crave the most when I’ve been away from home for a while, is tortilla de patatas. Recently, I had some amazing ones at these spots in Barcelona and Madrid:

Bar el Pollo: A very casual spot in Barcelona where I love sitting at the bar with a glass of wine and some bites, including (of course) tortilla de patatas, gildas, and their take on ensaladilla rusa.

Colmado Wilmot: My go-to for any meal because it’s right next to my house in Barcelona and everything is delicious. You won’t find any tourists here, just proper grandma-style food.

La Primera: The interiors and atmosphere at this spot in Madrid are very madrileño business crowd, but I like going for a pincho de tortilla (one per person!) and sharing something else like ensaladilla rusa. I always finish with the cheesecake.

I just saw that The Social Food recently joined AmiGo and I’m a big fan of everything they do. I loved following their trip around South Korea and Japan earlier this year and I’m excited to see which places they post on AmiGo.

I also love following André Bordarampé on AmiGo. I met André in Lima, where he lives, in March, and apart from being a wonderful person, he gave me the best tips for Peru and Buenos Aires. He’s very up to date with everything happening in Lima’s gastronomic scene, so he’s the person to follow if you are traveling to Peru (or really to any city in Latin America).

Since I have been traveling so much recently, I have missed out on a lot of what’s going on in my own city of Barcelona. I love to follow fellow BCN local Blanca Miró—she’s shared so many classic spots in Barcelona I haven’t tried yet. I also love that she shares recs in less popular destinations like Warsaw, Salzburg, and Lucca.

My favorite natural skincare brand is Rowse. I love not only their products, but also everything about the brand: the people behind it, the packaging, their philosophy, and their communication. I have been using their Body Oil for years, which was the first product they launched. I have gradually incorporated their newer products into my routine, including the Tangerine Cleansing Balm, All-Day Moisturizer, and Solid Shampoo (which is great for my travels). They recently launched a makeup collection with natural ingredients and I have been using the Summer Blush a lot.

I have been wearing sunglasses from Project Lobster for many years—my favorite pair is the Tyra in black! I love the Barcelona-based eyewear brand’s timeless designs and seasonal collections. Their stores are also beautiful, don’t miss the one in Barcelona’s El Born neighborhood. Use code AMIGO20 for 20% off all Project Lobster products, valid until September 30.

When it comes to travel inspiration, my number one source is anything from French travel agency Voyageurs du Monde. They publish a magazine twice a year and both the content and the design are superb. I love how they focus on lesser-visited places—specific, special destinations within popular countries. Their newest issue is about to be released, which I’m really excited about. Every year they also publish their list of 10 places to visit for the following year, and their list for 2026 is already out (and it includes Tinajani!).
