Tips

Inventive, creative seafood tucked away in a grand old corner building in Roma Norte. A nondescript, camouflaged exterior gives way to a dark, sultry, and industrial-chic interior, where patrons are treated to unique dishes such as geoduck with yuzu kraut and golden berry and totoaba with yellow tomatillo gelée and daikon flowers. Sarde is cool without trying to be, and one of the best meals in Mexico City at the moment. We’d be remiss not to mention the personable owner (who you’ll see floating around the restaurant almost every day) who procured the entire building and has big plans for the space—he’s currently working on a speakeasy-esque caviar bar and a multi-level lounge.
