If you're a foodie, the trek to Modena just to eat at Osteria Francescana is totally worth it. I'm not a huge fine dining person, but the artfulness of Massimo Bottura's menu and the creativity behind it is just spectacular. Modena is also known for balsamic vinegar, the Ferrari museum, its art scene, and therefore is worth even a weekend to explore.
