Gresca is an excellent neighborhood restaurant and wine bar in L’Eixample with an open kitchen that serves creative upscale tapas and has a superlative natural wine list. The chefs whip up a seasonal menu of delicious inventive small plates like cured mackerel with miso, grilled cabbage with pancetta, cucumber salad with stracchino cheese and Marcona almonds, and more. This intimate local favorite with a handful of tables (and a few highly covetable bar seats at the chef’s table) is always filled to the brim, so make reservations ahead of time. Our tip: talk to the sommelier and follow the team’s suggestions on the seasonal dishes. Don’t leave without trying their Torrija (French toast) with chocolate sorbet for dessert.
