Do you know that feeling when you go to see your favourite artist performing live and, as you finally get closer to the venue, you start recognising yourself in the people around you? You can see the values they share, the battles they fight for, the gentle way they choose to show themselves to the world. And somehow, you recognise yourself in them. You feel like you belong. You can actually feel that you’re in the right place, at the right time. That’s exactly how I felt when I was welcomed into Foyer Espresso Bar. A modern, beautifully designed specialty coffee shop in the Pangrati neighbourhood, run by a team of incredibly kind people with very skilled hands. Lots of lovely people sitting outside, a great selection of coffees from different origins, available both as espresso and hand brew. Having worked in a specialty coffee shop in Rome for many years, I can’t help but deeply appreciate the work they’re doing here and, even more so, the community they’ve managed to build around this place. Mari and I sat outside and had a V60, while playing a game of cards and betting that whoever lost would have to pay the bill. Needless to say, I lost. But honestly, in a place like this, paying the bill never feels like a burden:) P.S.
Obviously, there was no way we could leave without buying at least one bag of coffee.
